Independence Day Celebrations & Blood Camp

August 13, 2008 - OSWF held a family gala at PAF Museum, Karachi. The event was organized to give thalassemic children an opportunity to celebrate the Independence Day. A blood camp was also set up at the venue for the visitors to donate blood.

Over 500 visitors attended the event and enjoyed the evening which had number of colorful activities such as a music show, tableaus, quiz program, rides, magic show, clown characters, food stalls etc.

We were honored to have General (R) Moin-ud-Din Haider as our chief guest. Also present at the event were notable cricket figures such as Legendary Javed Miandad, Faisal Iqbal and Shoaib Muhammad. One distinguishing factor was the presence of all the stakeholders from the thalassemia standpoint – NGOs, Societies, Patients and their families. So, the event provided everyone with a networking opportunity and also a platform to figure out further synergized efforts.

All in All, the event turned out a huge success, Alhamdulillah. Please visit the Gallery section for photos.
